Climbing Mt. Batur with a sunrise surprise

Image
I had this wonderful idea to climb to the top of a volcano at sunrise. It was a very difficult climb. Only a few of us made the climb up the mountain. Caleb is the only one that made it up to the top and back down again. Mt Batur We woke up at 3am. It was a really hard climb and luckily they had motor cycles that could take you up most of the way.  Caleb and I pushed ourselves all the way up the top. I barely made it to the top to see the sunrise. Our guide then recommended us to go around the top and go down the other side it was so fun sliding down the mountain.    I ended up having knee problems so I ended up getting the motorcycle the rest of the way down.   One strange experience was when Joshua decided to open a power bar.   As he ripped it open all the monkeys went straight for him to get what he was opening.  One of them jumped on top of him.  It happened so quickly that we didn't get it on video nor took pictu...

More Seminyak shopping and transfer to Kintamani

Our second full day and 3rd partial was full of shopping. One of their main streets are full of shopping and cars and scooters. It happened in the store and outside on the street. I felt something for these kids. I just had to buy something from them. We ate great food. We found the Corner Shop for breakfast. After we came back from visiting a temple we finished at Naughty Nuris. So the  big part of the day was visiting the Uluwatu Temple. This is one of the older public temples. We loved the views. Especially at sunset.  Monkeys are a big portion of the Uluwatu Temple. You have to be careful cause they are very smart. The following day was a traveling day up to Kintamani (accent on the last i) We struggled to get a taxi. But again like always Hailey saved us. The driver too...

First look

Our first look at Bali was in the city of Seminyak. We will forget about our horrible long experience of picking the wrong immigration line. But we finally arrived to a beautiful airbnb.  We have been able to have relaxing swimming in the morning or at night after walking around. After shopping we made our way to the beach. we couldn't swimming cause the waves were to big and strong. In the evening we had dinner at La Plancha. Crazy going to Indonesia and eat Mexican food. Great fish tacos. The barramundi fish was excellent with the sauce they served.  we finished the night going back in a taxi.

The journey begins

This is a story of five travelers. Who began a journey based upon stories heard from tiktok and YouTube videos.  We started from different places, Utah and Arizona.  Arrived together in Los Angeles to start our 16 hour flight to Singapore, our first layover. On our layover in Singapore we went outside the airport. Going through security seem to be very secure but relaxed at the same time. It went smoothly.  We used the equivalent of Uber in Singapore to take us to the business district. It is where the famous metal trees are and the big swimming pool on top of the observation deck. One thing we noticed about Singapore is how green it is. Lots of trees.  part of Singapore that was really cool was the cloud forest. We walked into the most cooling environment
